What will therapy with Mara actually be like?

Therapy with me is collaborative, curious, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves more deeply. Together, we’ll slow down and pay attention to the patterns shaping how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you—including what unfolds between us in the therapy room.

Drawing primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I’ll help you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and values without needing to fight or eliminate difficult experiences. We’ll explore what matters most to you and consider how you can respond to life’s challenges in ways that are more aligned with the person you want to be.

I may incorporate mindfulness, nature-informed practices, and other evidence-based approaches when they support your goals and clinical needs. My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life. It’s to offer a supportive space where we can become curious about what is happening, make sense of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and discover new possibilities for moving forward.

Ultimately, therapy is about building a life that feels more meaningful and authentic to you—even when life is difficult or uncertain.
